Day Four, Rabida Island
Where the Beaches and the Iguanas are red
We start the day off by cruising along the cliffs in a Panga. Here on Rabida we see the second species of Sea Lion, the Galapagos Fur Seal which is smaller, and has a more bearlike than doglike face.
The Marine Iguanas here have reddish patches...
Another Lava Gull, and some truly ugly baby pelicans
Some Blue Footed Boobies
A very fetching iguana
and a seal that understands the importance of finding a comfortable spot
This pelican is very curious... stay tuned I think we'll se him again...
Here's a Yellow Crowned Night Heron
A spotted Eagle Ray
and a Playful Sea Lion
Then a crab carrying home dinner
And a Galapagos Fur Seal, notice the shorter face and darker coloration
We came around the red cliffs and landed on a red beach... because the lava has lots of iron in it...
A large prickly pear, and panoramic view... you can see La Pinta in the background...
Here are some more High Dynamic Range photos of the coast
a Morning Glory and a photo of Beth and I to round out Rabida Island
Then we went snorkling
Beth Underwater, most of a Sea Lion, Most of Beth and a Sea Lion, and all of a Green Sea Turtle
